Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide polishing control in which propagation loss of an optical fiber which was laterally polished is equalized, by providing a function for monitoring the propagation loss of the optical fiber during polishing. According to this polishing control system and this method, in a polishing control system and a method for controlling polishing in lateral-polishing of an optical fiber, light enters the optical fiber toward a point where the lateral-polishing is being performed, the optical fiber receives the light passing through the point where a lateral surface is polished, changes in light intensity of the received light are monitored, and the lateral-surface polishing is stopped on the basis of the changes in light intensity of the received light.
