Abstract:
The purpose of the present disclosure is to provide polishing control in which propagation loss of an optical fiber which was laterally polished is equalized, by providing a function for monitoring the propagation loss of the optical fiber during polishing. According to this polishing control system and this method, in a polishing control system and a control method for controlling polishing in lateral-polishing of an optical fiber, light enters the optical fiber toward a point where the lateral-polishing is being performed, the optical fiber receives the light passing through the point where a lateral surface is polished, changes in light intensity of the received light are monitored, and the polishing is stopped on the basis of the changes in light intensity of the received light.
