Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a polariser which, in plan view, has a recessed section in an outer peripheral section and/or has a through-hole in the surface, wherein the generation of cracks is suppressed in a heat shock test of repeated exposure to low-temperature and high-temperature conditions. [Solution] A polariser including: a polarising element including a polyvinyl alcohol resin film; and a first thermoplastic resin film provided on one surface thereof, wherein a shrinkage force per 2 mm width of the polarising element in the absorption axis direction is 0.7 N or less, and the modulus of elasticity of the first thermoplastic resin film at 23°C is 3,000 N/m2 or less, the polariser having, in plan view, a recessed section in an outer peripheral section or a through-hole in the surface.
