Abstract:
Disclosed is a plasma display panel (PDP) wherein a protection film is improved so that a lower breakdown voltage can be obtained. Specifically, portions near the surface of a protection film (16) are substantially composed of magnesium (Mg), aluminum (Al), nitrogen (N) and oxygen (O). The protection film (16) is formed so that the percentage of the number of Al atoms in the total number of Mg and Al atoms is not less than 2.1% but not more than 66.5%, the percentage of the number of N atoms in the total number of N and O atoms is not less than 1.2% but not more than 17.2%, and the ratio of the number of N and O atoms to the total number of Mg and Al atoms is not less than 1.0 but not more than 1.35 in the portions near the surface.
