Abstract:
Provided is a piston ring capable of reducing its own wear by reducing the load applied to the piston ring. The piston ring (21) is provided with a protruding portion (23) formed on one end, and a recessed portion (24) formed on the other end, the protruding portion (23) and the recessed portion (24) forming a stepped end portion (22). Between the protruding portion (23) and the recessed portion (24), there is provided a gas channel for guiding gas acting on one side face (41c) to another side face (41d).
