Abstract:
The present invention makes it possible for even a person without the experience or knowledge of a worker, supervisor, etc. to easily confirm visually, by touch, etc. the state of tightening of pipes immediately after pipe connection work or when time has elapsed after completion of the connection. The pipe joint is provided with: a nipple having an inserted part that is inserted in a pipe and faces the inner surface of the pipe in the radial direction; a tightening member that is provided so as to move freely in the axial direction relative to the outer surface of the pipe into which the nipple and the inserted part have been inserted; and a locking member that is fitted over the nipple and the tightening member. The tightening member has a pressing part that, as a result of movement relative to the nipple, presses the outer surface of the pipe toward the inserted part. The locking member has first engaging parts that engage with first engagement-accepting parts of the nipple and second engaging parts that engage with second engagement-accepting parts of the tightening member. By the state of engagement of the first engaging parts and the second engaging parts, the spacing from the first engagement-accepting parts to the second engagement-accepting parts is set to be the same measurement or shorter than the distance from the first engaging parts to the second engaging parts.
