In order to provide a pipe joint that can be caused to sharply and reliably bite into the outer peripheral surface of a pipe, this pipe joint is provided with a joint body 1 furnished with a male screw, and cap nuts 3 threaded over male screws 2 of the joint body 1. The joint body 1 has cylindrical insertion groove parts 4 for insertion of to-be-connected pipes P, the insertion groove parts 4 opening axially outward. The insertion groove parts 4 are formed by inner cylinder parts 5, outer cylinder parts 6, and deep groove bottom parts 7. The outer cylinder parts 6 have sharp grooves S of which the cross-sections are pentagons having sharp triangular peaks toward the inner side of the pipe joint. When the male screws 2 of the joint body 1 and the cap nuts 3 are threaded together, the outer cylinder parts 6 integrated with the joint body 1 receive axial compression force from the cap nuts 3 while the inner surfaces P2 of pipe distal ends P1 are held by the inner cylinder parts 5 integrated with the joint body 1, bottom wall parts S1 of the sharp grooves S undergo radially inward plastic deformation, and the pipes P inserted into the insertion groove parts 4 are bitten into from outer surfaces P3 and secured in place.
