Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a particulate filter that can achieve both PM capture performance and pressure loss suppression performance at a high level. The particulate filter 1 disclosed herein captures particulate matter PM in exhaust gas. The particulate filter 1 comprises: a substrate 10 having an entrance cell 12 where only an end 12a on an exhaust gas inflow side is opened, an exit cell 14 where only an end 14b on an exhaust gas outflow side is opened, and a porous partition wall 16 partitioning the entrance cell 12 and the exit cell 14; and an outer coat layer 20 formed on an entrance surface 16a of the partition wall 16. The D90 pore diameter of pores 22 in the outer coat layer 20 is 1-10 μm. The thickness t1 of the pores 22 in the outer coat layer 20 is 20-80 μm, and the porosity Pcoat is 30-70%. The outer coat layer 20 having this configuration makes it possible to appropriately suppress an increase in pressure loss and suitably capture particulate matter PM.
