Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide: an orthotropic hollow disk rotor which is for a flywheel for a flywheel electric power storage device and which maximizes a stored energy limit; and a method for determining the optimal inner/outer diameter ratio of the orthotropic hollow disk rotor. Provided is an orthotropic hollow disk rotor 1 for a flywheel for a flywheel electric power storage device wherein, when "physical size" is defined as the volume πb2h of an imaginary solid disk having a circle of an outer radius b as the bottom surface thereof and having a height of h, the optimal inner/outer diameter ratio at which the maximum stored energy density limit for the physical size during rotation is achieved is λOPT=a/b or in the vicinity of λOPT.
