Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide an optical device having a high efficiency of usable light without needing a collimated lens. The optical device is provided with a light source unit 1 that radiates light of a wavelength λ and an optical element 2 having an uneven structure formed by periodic lenses, and is designed such that, provided that n is a natural number equal to or greater than 1 and Pk is the size of the kth pitch (where k is a natural number equal to or greater than 1) in order of increasing size from among the pitches of the uneven structure, for any one or more pitches Pk, the distance L1 between the light source unit and the optical element satisfies the following expression 1.
