Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an optical device and a distance measuring device capable of suitably detecting an emission timing of oscillating light. [Solution] An optical device according to the present disclosure comprises: a light emitting element including a semiconductor portion which is included in a first resonator that causes first wavelength light to resonate, and which causes the first wavelength light to oscillate, a solid state laser medium which is included in the first resonator and is included in a second resonator that causes second wavelength light to resonate, and which causes the second wavelength light to oscillate, and a saturable absorber included in the second resonator, the light emitting element emitting the second wavelength light; a detector for detecting the first wavelength light or a drive current of the light emitting element; and an emission timing detecting unit for detecting an emission timing of the second wavelength light on the basis of a detection result of the first wavelength light or the drive current of the light emitting element, obtained by the detector.
