One aspect of the present invention pertains to an optical communications device comprising: a detection unit that detects the rising or falling edge of a control signal output to an optical communication path from a user device; and an optical modulation unit that superimposes a new control signal on the main signal if a rising or falling edge of a control signal is detected by the detection unit.
