This operation device for a link actuating device (51) is provided with a target value input means (57) which has a height target value input unit (57z) which can input a height coordinate position or a height-direction movement amount for changing the distal end orientation of the link actuating device (51) only in the height direction along the central axis of a proximal-end-side link hub (12). An input conversion means 58 is provided which uses the inputted value to calculate the target distal end orientation of the link actuating device (51), represented by a bend angle θ and a swivel angle φ, and, from said calculation result, calculates a command actuation amount for each actuator and inputs the same to a control device (54). The target value input means (57) is configured to accept input by designation of three-dimensional orthogonal coordinates and further allows input by means of a push button.
