Abstract:
Disclosed is a high-quality oil ring for internal combustion engines which serves to reduce oil consumption over an extended time period with stability and enables the shape of an upper rail and a lower rail to be formed at low costs with high precision. To this end, the oil ring for internal combustion engines is adapted as follows. In a cross-sectional shape perpendicular to the direction of sliding of the first rail and the second rail that constitute the oil ring body, at least one rail has a recessed step height portion at a corner of a sliding face provided on an outer circumferential sliding projection of the rail, the sliding face being in sliding contact with the inner wall surface of a cylinder, and the wall surface of the recessed step height portion includes an arc shape having a radius of curvature of 0.02mm to 0.08mm.
