Abstract:
A novel flexspline and wave generator assembly for a harmonic gear drive apparatus. The assembly comprises a profiled dual-ferrule flexible ball bearing (10) formed by a profiled outer ferrule (101), a profiled inner ferrule (102), and balls (103) that are assembled together. A holder (104) evenly separates the balls along a peripheral direction. Because the cross section of a raceway of the profiled inner ferrule is elliptical, the curve connected by centers of the balls (103) and the cross section of the profiled outer ferrule (101) are both elliptical. A ferrule is a trench-shaped raceway, and a truncate thereof comprises a single circular arc, an elliptical arc, and a nib-shaped arc. One contact point is formed between the single circular arc and a ball (103). Two contact points are formed between the elliptical arc or the nib-shaped arc and the ball (103). The harmonic gear drive apparatus has very high drive precision and long service life.
