Abstract:
A positive electrode mixture layer of this non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode active material and a cellulose derivative. The positive electrode active material contains a lithium-transition metal composite oxide containing 80 mol% or more of Ni with respect to the total number of moles of metal elements except for Li. On each of the surfaces of primary particles of the lithium-transition metal compound oxide, a Me-containing layer containing a metal element Me (where Me represents at least one element selected from Nb, Sr, Mo, and Ca) and a W-containing layer containing W are formed. The contained amount of Me in the Me-containing layer is 0.005-1 mol% with respect to the total number of moles of metal elements except for Li in the lithium-transition metal composite oxide. The W-containing layer covers at least a part of the Me-containing layer.
