Abstract:
In a negative pressure type booster device, a movable diaphragm (20) dividing the inside of a housing (10) into a forward negative pressure chamber (R1) and a rear pressure conversion chamber (R2) includes an annular rubber diaphragm (22) and an annular metal plate (21) disposed forwardly of the rubber diaphragm (22). The diaphragm (22) is hermetically pinched by the housing (10) at an annular outer peripheral bead portion (22a) formed at an outer peripheral edge of the diaphragm (22), and hermetically secured to an outer peripheral portion of a valve body (30), together with an inner peripheral portion of the plate (21), at an annular inner peripheral bead portion (22b) formed at an inner peripheral edge of the diaphragm (22). Between the outer peripheral bead portion (22a) and the inner peripheral bead portion (22b), there are formed a folded portion (22c) having a curved portion (22c1) toward the front and continuous with the outer peripheral bead portion (22a) at an outer peripheral area, and an annular portion (22d) continuous with an inner peripheral area of the folded portion (22c) and with the inner peripheral bead portion (22b). Thus, the diaphragm (22) is formed with the folded portion (22c) having a shape adapted for operation, whereby the fatigue resistance of the folded portion of the diaphragm can be improved.
