Abstract:
Provided is a needle roller bearing in which detachment of needle rollers does not occur during assembly and which exhibits a roller filling rate equivalent to that of a full complement needle roller bearing. This needle roller bearing comprises a plurality of needle rollers 2 and a holding jig 3 for preventing the needle rollers 2 from detaching. The holding jig 3 has a pair of rim portions 3a disposed on both sides in the axial direction and a plurality of column portions 3b which connect radially outer-side portions of the pair of rim portions 3a to each other at predetermined intervals in the circumferential direction. The pair of rim portions 3a and the column portions 3b form pockets for holding the needle rollers 2. The needle roller bearing is characterized in that: the inner diameter surfaces of the column portions 3b are positioned on the radially outer side with respect to the pitch circle diameter of the needle rollers 2; an inter-roller gap rs between needle rollers 2 on the pitch circle diameter of the needle rollers 2 is set narrower than a pocket gap cs at each contact position between the column portion 3b and the needle roller 2; and a surface roughness Ra of the outer-side surfaces of the rim portions 3a is set to 0.4 μm or less.
