Abstract:
A multiple free disc-type clutch is provided with at least two free discs each disposed in a freely rotatable manner between a drive torque-transmitting disc and an output torque-receiving disc. When the multiple free disc-type clutch transmits torque, the distance between the drive torque-transmitting disc, the at least two free discs, and the output torque-receiving disc is reduced, input torque from a drive device is transmitted by friction from the drive torque-transmitting disc to a free disc adjacent to the drive torque-transmitting disc, the torque transmitted to the free disc is transmitted by friction to a free disc adjacent to the free disc, and the torque transmitted to the free disc located closest to the output shaft side is transmitted by friction to the output torque-receiving disc.
