Abstract:
A multi-directional input device according to an aspect of the present invention is characterized by comprising: a housing; a tiltable operation member that rotates about a first rotation axis; a first interlocking member that has a first shaft support supported by the housing so as to be rotatable about the first rotation axis and rotates in conjunction with a tilting operation of the operation member; an urging member that urges the operation member to press the first shaft support of the first interlocking member against the housing and applies, to the operation member, a return force for returning the operation member to a neutral position; and a first rotation detector that detects rotation of the first interlocking member, wherein the housing has a pressure receiving section to be pressed by the first shaft support, one of the first shaft support and the pressure receiving section has a projection projecting toward the other, the other has a receiving section to be in contact with the projection, and the projection and the receiving section make rolling contact with each other about the first rotation axis. The present invention reduces the frictional force between the housing and the interlocking member, which interlocks with the operation of the operation member, thus achieving an improvement in product durability, a reduction in generation of abrasion powder, and an improvement in operation stability.
