Abstract:
A multi-core multi-mode optical fiber, which comprises a plurality of core layers and a common outer cladding layer and is characterized in that there are two, four, or eight core layers; the core layers are uniformly distributed in the circumferential direction at equal intervals; the distance between adjacent core layers among two core layers is 38 to 60 μm and is 38 to 48 μm among four or eight core layers; each core layer is sequentially coated from inside to outside by an inner cladding layer and a sunken cladding layer; and a multi-core homogeneous multi-mode optical fiber is formed. The refractive index profile of the core layers is parabola-shaped, α is 1.9 to 2.1, a core layer R1 is 12 to 20 μm, a core layer Δ1max is 0.7% to 1.7%, the singe-sided width of the inner cladding layer is 0.5 to 2.5 μm, Δ2 is -0.4% to 0.0%, the single-sided width of the sunken cladding layer is 3 to 7 μm, Δ3 is -0.7% to -0.9%, and the common outer cladding layer is a pure silicon dioxide layer. Multi-mode transmission in a wavelength range of 850 nm to 950 nm and single-mode transmission in an O waveband/C waveband can be supported at the same time, and the structure and viscosity matching of the optical fiber can also be optimized to reduce attenuation so that comprehensive performance, such as crosstalk of the optical fiber, macro-bending and micro-bending loss of each channel and so on, is at a good level.
