Abstract:
[Problem] Provided are a molten metal stirring device and a continuous casting system capable of obtaining a great stirring force at low power consumption. [Solution] A molten metal stirring device 1 comprises a magnetic field device 2 having first to third magnetic field generation units. Each of the magnetic field generation units has a first annular iron core, a second annular iron core, a first yoke and a second yoke connecting the first annular iron core and the second annular iron core, a first coil and a second coil wound around the first annular iron core, and a third coil and a fourth coil wound around the second annular iron core. The first and second coils are wound so as to generate, when current flows thereto, a first magnetic field toward one of the yokes among the first yoke and the second yoke. The third and fourth coils are wound so as to generate, when current flows thereto, a second magnetic field toward one of the yokes. The first to third magnetic field generation units are disposed such that the first and second yoke of each of said units are positioned spaced apart from each other.
