Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a molding base material having high expandability and a porous body of a fiber-reinforced resin having excellent lightweight properties. The present invention, which solves the aforesaid problem, relates to a molding base material containing discontinuous reinforcing fibers and a matrix resin, said molding base material containing discontinuous carbon fibers with curved portions as the discontinuous reinforcing fibers and having expandability in the thickness direction at the glass transition temperature or melting point of the matrix resin.
