Abstract:
A method and system for waste wire treatment of the present invention comprises: a step of primarily decontaminating the surface of a waste wire, which is a radioactive waste; a step of measuring the radioactivity for the waste wire; a step of comparing the radioactivity measurement result for the waste wire with a predetermined reference value; a step of secondarily decontaminating the waste wire when the radioactivity measurement result for the waste wire exceeds the reference value; a step of cutting and pulverizing the waste wire; a step of sorting the waste wire and separating a covering material and metals from the waste wire; a step of measuring the radioactivity for the covering material and metals; a step of comparing the radioactivity measurement result for the covering material and metals with the reference value; a step of recovering the metals and recycling the covering material when the radioactivity measurement result for the covering material and metals is lower than the reference value; and a stabilization treatment step of performing stabilization treatment on the covering material and metals by hot compression when the radioactivity measurement result for the covering material and metals exceeds the reference value. As such, the method and system for waste wire treatment according to the present invention enable safe recycling of a waste wire by treating the waste water regardless of the type or shape thereof.
