Abstract:
A method and a system for searching for a media message by using text extracted from a media file are disclosed. The media message search method according to an embodiment may comprise the steps of: generating a particular session of an instant messaging service or participating in the particular session; extracting text from visual information included in a media message to be transmitted from a computer device through the particular session or a media message having been received by the computer device through the particular session; storing the extracted text in a local database of the computer device in association with the corresponding media message; providing a search interface in association with the instant messaging service; and searching the local database for text associated with a keyword input via the search interface and a media message associated with the text.
