Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for extracting thorium from a leaching residue of a rare earth ore, and provides a method for selectively extracting thorium by using a polymer alcohol, comprising the steps of: (a) adding an acid solution to the leaching residue, and adding hydrogen peroxide, which is a reducing agent, and a polymer alcohol, thereby forming a leaching solution; and (b) solvent-extracting thorium by adding, to the leaching solution, an organic phase comprising an extractant. Therefore, the load of a thorium extraction process can be reduced by reducing the use amount of the reducing agent.
