Title:
METHOD FOR RELIEVING FATIGUE LIFESPAN BY USING NANOSKINS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/043514
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method relieving the fatigue accumulated due to the repetition of mechanical contact, rotation, bending and the like of metal or alloy materials or mechanical parts such as shafts, gears or bearings so as to extend the lifespan of the corresponding part or materials. According to the present invention, provided is a method for relieving a fatigue lifespan by using nanoskins, comprising the steps of: classifying the kinds of objects for the metal or alloy materials or the mechanical parts such as shafts, gears or bearings; evaluating the structures and fatigue states of the objects by properly performing a nondestructive test such as an analysis method of a finite element method (FEM), residual stress measurement or fluorescence analysis for finding fine cracks of a surface layer, according to the kinds of classified objects; detecting the position, at which the fatigue is accumulated, on the basis of the evaluation result; and forming the nanoskin on the surface of the object by applying vibration energy to the detected position, at which the fatigue is accumulated, by using ultrasonic waves and the like, thereby modifying the surface of the object and relieving the accumulated fatigue by forming the nanoskin on the surface of the object, such that the fatigue lifespan and the overall lifespan of products can be extended.
