Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to improve the recovery rate for lithium contained in a lithium ion cell. This method for recycling lithium ion cells includes: a first electrical discharge step S102 in which electrical discharge of a lithium ion cell is induced via a load in a first resistance value region, and the amount of lithium contained in a positive-electrode active material is increased; a second electrical discharge step S104 in which electrical discharge of the lithium ion cell is furthermore induced via a load in a second resistance value region that is lower than the first resistance value region, and the amount of lithium contained in the positive-electrode active material is further increased; and a recovery step S108 in which the positive-electrode active material is recovered from the lithium ion cell after the second electrical discharge step S104.
