Abstract:
Provided is a method for suppressing distribution of PGM to Cu2O slag in oxidation smelting in a method for recovering PGM. Specifically provided is a method for recovering PGM, which comprises: a reduction smelting step wherein a member to be processed that contains PGM, Cu and/or Cu2O and a reducing flux are subjected to reduction smelting so that molten slag and a Cu alloy containing PGM are produced; and an oxidation smelting step wherein the Cu alloy containing PGM is subjected to oxidation smelting so that Cu2O slag containing PGM and a Cu alloy having a higher PGM concentration than the above-described Cu alloy containing PGM are produced. An acidic oxide or a basic oxide is added in the oxidation smelting step of the method for recovering PGM.
