Abstract:
Provided are a method for producing a novel catalytic-metal-supporting resin with which it is possible to improve the efficiency of a refining step, and a method for producing ultrapure water using a catalytic-metal-supporting resin produced by the above method. The method for producing a resin X comprises: packing a first anion exchange resin A1 supporting a catalytic metal and a second anion exchange resin A2 that is not supporting a catalytic metal into the same container; and refining, together, the first anion exchange resin A1 and the second anion exchange resin A2 packed into the container. The ultrapure water production method comprises bringing water to be treated containing hydrogen peroxide or dissolved oxygen into contact with an ion exchange resin containing at least the resin X produced as above, and reducing the amount of hydrogen peroxide or dissolved oxygen.
