Abstract:
According to the present invention, a plate glass G which has an effective region G1 and an unnecessary region G2 that is provided with ear parts Ge on both ends in the width direction, said ear parts Ge having a thicker plate thickness than the effective region G1, is provided with scribe lines S on surfaces Ga, Gy of the boundary part between the effective region G1 and the unnecessary region G2; and the plate glass G is snapped along the scribe lines S by pulling the unnecessary region G2 in the vertical direction, while hanging and supporting the plate glass G in a vertical posture.
