Abstract:
A method for producing a lead-free zinc pellet for manganese dry cell by continuous casting rolling system with high quality and high productivity. A zinc alloy is prepared in a melting furnace (11) by adding bismuth or additive elements principally comprising bismuth to pure zinc, continuously cast by a casting machine (14) to have a band shape of about 9-20 mm in thickness, and then rolled by pair rolls (19-1, 19-2) to have a predetermined thickness. After being rolled to have a predetermined thickness, it is temporarily wound up spirally or cut into a predetermined length. Thereafter, the wound-up zinc alloy is unwound and the zinc alloy cut into a predetermined length is kept as it is, to be fed to a punching press (21) and punched into a predetermined shape, thus producing a negative electrode zinc plate for 6F22 or a zinc pellet for the negative electrode of tubular manganese dry cell.
