Abstract:
The present invention provides a novel method for producing a positive electrode active material, the method using an ion species other than lithium. The present invention provides a method for producing an electrode member, the method using, as a starting material, a rubber material that contains sulfur, wherein the electrode member is a positive electrode active material. This method for producing an electrode member comprises a step for obtaining a positive electrode active material by: thermally decomposing the starting material into a solid and a dry-distilled gas; cooling and separating the dry-distilled gas into an oil component and a gas; separating the oil component by distillation into a heavy oil, a light oil and sulfur; kneading the thus-obtained heavy oil and sulfur with a carbide for positive electrode active materials and an ionic material containing at least one element that is selected from the group consisting of Na, K, Ca and Mg; and subjecting the kneaded material to a heat treatment in a non-oxidizing atmosphere. A material derived from waste (for example, fired plant ash and fired eggshell) can be used as the ionic material.
