Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for producing an aerostatic journal porous bearing and an aerostatic journal porous bearing, in which positioning and fixing of a porous member to a housing member, sealing between the housing member and the porous member, and securing of a gas supply amount to the bearing clearance formed between the porous member and the shaft are all achieved with a simple configuration. The method for producing a bearing 100, which is provided with a cylindrical porous member 110 and a housing member 120 having a cylinder portion 121 into which this porous member 110 is inserted and supports the radial load of a shaft S with a gas ejected from the porous member 110, is provided with: a press-fitting step for press-fitting a front end portion 113 of the porous member 110 into a front end insertion portion 121A of the cylinder portion 121; and a sealing step for deforming a rear end portion 114 of the porous member 110 by forming protrusion regions 121C1 obtained by plastically deforming a rear end insertion portion 121C, which is of the cylinder portion 121 and into which the rear end portion 114 of the porous member 110 is loosely fitted.
