Abstract:
Provided in the present disclosure are a method for performing random access by using an access beam, and a UE and a base station. When being applied to a UE, the method comprises: determining the current location of the UE and an access beam quadrant where the UE is located; acquiring a pre-defined preamble distribution pattern of the access beam quadrant, wherein the preamble distribution pattern comprises a plurality of preamble locations in the access beam quadrant and correspondingly distributed preambles; determining a target preamble location, which maps the current location, and a correspondingly distributed target preamble; and at an RO, sending to a base station a random access request message, which carries the target preamble, such that the base station determines the location of the UE in the access beam quadrant according to the target preamble. The present disclosure can determine relatively accurate UE coordinates in a networking scenario of satellite communications, thereby providing better communication services for a UE.
