Abstract:
The present invention provides: a method for operating a methane gas generation device, the method being capable of controlling the deterioration rate of a catalyst by adequately adjusting operational conditions of a methane gas generation device and a blast furnace; and a method for operating a blast furnace. This method for operating a methane gas generation device comprises: a step for generating a methane gas from a starting material gas, which contains a blast furnace gas discharged from a blast furnace, with use of a methane gas synthesis reactor; a step for obtaining the methane concentration in the methane gas; and a step for adjusting the conditions for the generation of the methane gas on the basis of comparison between the methane concentration and a predetermined target value of the methane concentration.
