Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a spherical plain bearing comprises the steps of: (S3) preparing an outer ring member (1) for a spherical plain bearing, having a first end (1a) and a second end (1b), and an inner ring (2) for a spherical plain bearing; (S51) inserting the inner ring for a spherical plain bearing into the outer ring member for a spherical plain bearing so that an inner peripheral surface (11a) of the outer ring member for a spherical plain bearing and an outer peripheral surface (11b) of the inner ring for a spherical plain bearing face each other; and (S52, S53) machining the outer ring member for a spherical plain bearing so that the inner peripheral surface of the outer ring member for a spherical plain bearing extends along the outer peripheral surface of the inner ring for a spherical plain bearing. The outer ring member for a spherical plain bearing is provided with a first portion (11) positioned on a first end side, and a second portion (12) positioned on a second end side. The inner peripheral surface of the first portion is linear in a cross-sectional view. The inner peripheral surface of the second portion is curved in a cross-sectional view. The inside diameter of the second portion decreases from the end of the second portion on the first end side toward the end of the second portion on the second end side.
