Abstract:
A method for manufacturing a glass plate that comprises: a first cutting step for cutting a glass ribbon G, which is conveyed while being shaped, along the width direction with a first cutting device 2 to cut out a glass plate; and a second cutting step for, when the first cutting device 2 is not in operation, cutting the glass ribbon G with a second cutting device 3 equipped with a cutting blade 38, which presses the glass ribbon G and moves in the width direction, and a holding member 36 which holds the glass ribbon G and receives the pressing force of the cutting blade 38, wherein, in the second cutting step, the values of the pressing force of the cutting blade 38 and/or the moving speed of the cutting blade 38 in the width direction are changed.
