Abstract:
This method for manufacturing a fiber mat involves a step for dispersing thermoplastic fine fibers in a dispersion medium, and a step for matting the dispersed fine fibers on a support. The matting step involves: a step for making, on the support, a sheet from the fine fibers to form a fiber mat (30); and a step for irradiating, with light, a first principal surface (31) of the fiber mat (30) located on the opposite side to the side on which the support is located. In the step for irradiating, with light, the first principal surface (31) of the fiber mat (30), the fine fibers located on the first principal surface (31) side are fused.
