Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing an electrophotography member contributing towards forming a high-quality electrophotographic image. A method for manufacturing an electrophotography member having an electroconductive substrate, an elastic layer, and a surface layer, wherein the method for manufacturing an electrophotography member has: a first step for forming, on the surface of the elastic layer, a coating made from a coating liquid for forming the surface layer, the coating liquid containing a hydrolysis condensate of a hydrolyzable silane compound and the chelate titanium compound represented by formula (2); and a second step for causing an epoxy group in the hydrolysis condensate to cleave, thereby causing the hydrolysis condensate to cross-link and forming the surface layer.
