Title:
METHOD FOR INPUTTING KOREAN BY THRICE REPEATED OPERATION USING SAME KEYS FOR CONSONANTS, VOWELS AND BATCHIM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2016/080473
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Conventionally, in order to reduce the number of keys used for inputting Korean characters, characters are input while combining character elements at the time of input. However, the number of key operations increases as the number of keys is reduced. In the present invention, constituent elements of characters are categorized into consonants, vowels and batchim. Every character can be input by three presses using 27 keys and a space bar. For each key, the first press selects a consonant, the second press selects a vowel, and if the character is a combination of a consonant and a vowel, the character is set by pressing the space bar third. If the character is a combination of a consonant, a vowel and a batchim, by pressing the batchim third, the character is automatically set. Thus, in comparison to the 26 keys used for alphabetic characters, by adding only one key, every character can be input using 27 keys and the space bar.
