Abstract:
The present invention is a method for a dismantling a plasma display device comprising a plasma display panel (PDP) (11), which has front plates (20) and a back plate (21), and a metal support plate (14), which is attached to the back plate (21) of the PDP (11) via an adhesive member (16). By removing the front plates (20), which constitute the PDP (11), to expose the surface of the back plate (21), then removing an adherend on the back plate (21), and subsequently emitting infrared rays from the vicinity of the back plate (21), the adhesive member (16) between the back plate (21) and the metal support plate (14) is heated, thereby reducing the adhesive strength. The back plate (21) and the metal support plate (14) are then separated.
