Abstract:

In a method for manufacturing a rolling bearing unit, one axial end surface of a forming punch (46) is positioned to face the other axial end surface of a section (20) to be staked, the forming punch (46) being formed by combining a plurality of circumferentially separated punch elements (46, 46), each of which can be axially displaced and is prevented from being circumferentially displaced, the forming punch (46) having working teeth (44, 44) formed on the one axial end surface thereof. In the abovementioned state, a roller (30a) having a center axis (β) tilted relative to the center axis (α) of a hub body (8) is rotated about the center axis (α) while the other axial end surface of the forming punch (46) is pressed by the pressing surface (43) of the roller (30a).
