Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR LOADING PARTICLES IN A TUBE OF A TUBULAR REACTOR
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2002/076598
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods and devices for loading loose materials into vertical tubes and can be used for forming fixed layers of catalyst particles in tubular reactors which are largely used for the chemical, petroleum and other industries. The aim of the invention is to load particles into the tube in such a way that it is possible to form a particles layer which is homogenous through the height thereof and similar for all loaded tubes, thereby protecting them during loading, and to increase loading rate. The inventive method consists in loading the tube by continuous stream of particles where they fall at a constant and equal for all particles speed. The falling velocity is less than a velocity at which the particles can be destroyed by colliding with the particles of a formed layer. Said falling velocity of the particles in the tube is regulated by a braking action of a counter-current gas flow. The inventive device for carrying out said method comprises a receiving bin, a cradle, a drum rotatable around the axis thereof, a drive mechanism rotating said drum and provided with a flexible hose rolled thereon. The end of the hose fixed to the drum is connected to a source of gas by means of a gas flow adjustment unit. Said device also comprises a control unit of the drive mechanism.
