Provided is a method for accelerating evaporation of brine in a plateau salt lake, comprising introducing a downward wind on the surface of the brine, and after the wind comes into contact with the surface of the brine, switching the wind direction to a transversal wind to achieve outwards advection, thereby accelerating evaporation of the brine. Further provided is a device for accelerating brine evaporation. The method is simple in operation, can accelerate evaporation of brine, and can realize industrialized halogen production at low cost. Salt scale is less prone to form in concentrated brine, and salt crystals precipitated in the brine are also easy to separate. The device has a simple and reliable structure, low manufacturing, usage, and maintenance costs, is effective in accelerating evaporation of brine, and is convenient for use in plateau salt lake areas, is easily relocatable, has a minimal contact area with the brine, and formation of salt scale on the surface of the device is basically not possible, facilitating discharge of salt particles precipitated by concentration.
