Abstract:
A method for producing iron ore pellets according to one aspect of the present invention entails producing self-fusing iron ore pellets to be used in the operation of a blast furnace, and includes: a feedstock mixing step for mixing auxiliary feedstock including CaO and MgO into an ore feedstock such that the mass ratio of CaO/SiO2 is 0.8 or more and the mass ratio of MgO/SiO2 is 0.4 or more; a granulation step for granulating raw pellets from the mixed feedstock obtained in the feedstock mixing step; and an agglomeration step for imparting strength to the raw pellets. The temperature T1 shown in formula 1 is set to 1100°C or higher, or the temperature T2 shown in formula 2 is set to 1350°C or higher. T1 = 1155 - 0.095 × Po2 + 15 × FeO0.5 T2 = 220 × C/S + 13.1 × M/S - 23.13 × TFe + 2600 Po is the porosity (%) of the iron ore pellets, FeO is the percentage (mass%) of FeO, C/S is the mass ratio of CaO/SiO2, M/S is the mass ratio of MgO/SiO2, and TFe is the total percentage (mass%) of iron content.
