Abstract:
Provided are a method for controlling a rogue optical network unit (ONU), a related apparatus, and a passive optical network. In a technical solution provided in an embodiment of the invention, after detecting an interference signal, a first channel terminal instructs a second channel terminal to terminate an upstream bandwidth grant to a first ONU generating the interference signal, and inferring whether the first ONU is a rogue ONU according to existence or disappearance of the interference signal before and after the termination of the upstream bandwidth grant to the first ONU by the second channel terminal. This mechanism can effectively determine whether the first ONU is a rogue ONU, thereby facilitating effective identification of a rogue ONU. The technical solution provided in the embodiment of the invention facilitates effective identification of a rogue ONU.
