Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for coloring treatment of aluminum or aluminum alloy whereby degradation of a solution in which dye particles are dissolved can be suppressed, and the solution can be used even when left for a long time. [Solution] A method for coloring treatment of aluminum or aluminum alloy, including an anodic oxidation coating formation step for forming an anodic oxidation coating on at least a portion of the surface of a base material formed from aluminum or aluminum alloy, a dye deposition step for immersing the anodic oxidation coating of the base material in a dye solution in which dye particles are dissolved and coloring the anodic oxidation coating by depositing the dye particles into numerous pores in the anodic oxidation coating, and a sealing treatment step for sealing the numerous pores in the anodic oxidation coating after the dye deposition step, a metal deposition step for depositing an antibacterial metal in the numerous pores in the anodic oxidation coating being performed before the dye deposition step. Silver or copper is preferred as the antibacterial metal to be deposited in the anodic oxidation coating.
