Abstract:
Provided are a method and carrier for the biosynthesis of ergothioneine. The method comprises: introducing into a host cell at least one nucleic acid construct of a polynucleotide sequence comprising: a coding glutamylcysteine synthetase, an Fe2+ dependent oxidase, glutamine amidotransferase, histidine methyltransferase and pyridoxal phosphate-dependent carbon-sulfur lyase; thus obtaining recombinant bacteria capable of expressing glutamylcysteine synthetase, Fe2+ dependent oxidase, glutamine amidotransferase, histidine methyltransferase and pyridoxal phosphate-dependent carbon-sulfur lyase, and using said recombinant bacteria for the biosynthesis of ergothioneine.
