Abstract:
Provided is a method for assembling an expansion pipe joint 10 in which a pipe body 1 and a pipe body 2 that is inserted into the pipe body 1 are connected so as to be capable of moving relative to each other within a certain range along an axial direction, and in which a lock ring 4 mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the pipe body 2 exhibits a detachment-preventing function, the method comprising: a temporary fixing step in which an assembled body 48 formed by assembling the lock ring 4, which is increased in diameter through elastic deformation, to a temporary fixing jig 8 is fitted into the pipe body 1, and the lock ring 4 having the increased diameter is held in an orientation concentric with the pipe body 1; and a mounting step in which the pipe body 2 is inserted into the lock ring 4 having the increased diameter, the temporary fixing jig 8 is removed from the lock ring 4 due to the insertion movement of the pipe body 2, and the lock ring 4 is mounted on the outer peripheral surface of the pipe body 2.
